Things I’m grateful for

Often as human beings we are concerned with just our selves, our well-being, relationships, careers and simply what we’re doing later at 4pm. But when I was compiling this list, and stopped to reflect on the great things in my life, the people, places and things I’m grateful for it reminds you that life ain’t that bad. So below is a list (in no particular order) of 32 things I am grateful for:

  1. Family & Friends, who never fail to be there
  2. My boyfriend: loving, supportive and dependable
  3. My education: the privilege to learn and study in a beautiful environment
  4. The Ability to travel: I have gotten the chance to visit some amazing countries, including Provence, Prague, Iceland, Canada…
  5. My health
  6. Clean drinking water & a healthy source of food: More than 10% of the world’s population does not have access to clean drinking water, yet where I live I have an endless source of clean drinking water, I just turn on the tap
  7. Rest and the weekend
  8. Access to the internet and being able to connect across the world
  9. Dogs: lucky to have had 2 gorgeous dogs in my life
  10. Music, the ability to escape and find inner joy
  11. Exercise: the freedom of running and the excitement of team sports
  12. My ability to write eloquently and intellectually – the skills to read and write
  13. The beauty and security of my country: the varying English countryside
  14. Sunday mornings in bed
  15. Perfect, crisp, sunny weather
  16. Pouring rain where you are soaked through or cosy under a blanket
  17. Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows
  18. Good conversation and a break from social media
  19. Freedom to vote and voice my opinions
  20. Hot showers and baths
  21. Hitting the snooze button on your alarm
  22. Goodnight kisses
  23. Being able to dream
  24. Good hair days
  25. Sun air and a sea breeze
  26. Comfortable clothes
  27. Meeting with old friends
  28. Senses and the ability to see the world in colour
  29. The random kindness of strangers
  30. The ability to capture moments in photographs
  31. The chance to look and think forward into the future
  32.  The reminder that everything will be okay – even if it seems like it’s not

So instead of focusing on what I don’t have, I am aiming to try and focus on what I do have, even the small things, which are just as important.
